I am the AM and PM kindergarten teacher at Roberts Elementary School. I have been teaching in the Upper Merion School District for 25 years! Prior to coming to Upper Merion, I attended Fordham University and Villanova University. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and General Studies. After teaching for a few years, I went on to study Reading at West Chester University.
I have taught kindergarten for 10 years, but I have also taught pre-first for 3 years, first grade for 6 years, and second grade for 6 years. I have loved every grade I have taught! Each grade brings its own special rewards and surprises!
I grew up as the daughter of a Naval officer and moved up and down the east coast many times. My favorite place to live was the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The campus of the Naval Academy was like a giant playground! There was always so much to do, see, and hear. It seemed like the Midshipmen were constantly marching in a parade while the band was playing and we were humming along. It was especially fun when some of them came to our house to watch a game on the TV or to eat dinner with us. I already had a brother and lots of sisters, but when they came over, it was like I had lots of brothers too! I also enjoyed living in Miami, Florida. I got to ride my bike, roller skate, and swim almost every day of the year. Sudden torrential downpours were common, but they didn't last long so before you knew it, we were outside playing once again!
I have a wonderful husband and an amazing 11 year old son. Together, we enjoy going to see plays (especially the ones our son performs in), riding our bikes, hiking in the woods, painting pottery, swimming, playing board games, and reading books. In my free time, I also enjoy photography, scrapbooking, baking, sewing and crocheting. Right now I don't have any pets, but hope to get one soon! In the past, I have had dogs, guinea pigs, and fish!
